Question 1: Coach Roger is a 60-year-old basketball coach who has been coaching for the last 30 years. Although he has no formal coaching certification, he has coached many teams to win various school and club competitions over the years. In recent years, Coach Roger realized that more teams and schools are asking him to submit his formal coaching certifications before they can offer him the position. He is frustrated, lost, and does not know how to be in the Sports ecosystem in Singapore. Coach Roger is not alone in this situation.

Discuss how you would explain to sports coaches like Coach Roger the various initiatives to drive sports coaching as a profession in Singapore. What recommendations would you give to assist in their career development? You may consider the following points:

Question 3: 

Mr. Lim is the owner of a sports equipment company XYZ Pte Ltd. He supplies equipment to the ABC Gymnastics Academy, where you are the Head Coach. His daughter, Lisa, is a novice gymnast in your academy.
Lisa shared with her father that she is unlikely to be selected for the gymnastics team in the upcoming National Competition, as there were many other better and experienced gymnasts in the academy.
Mr. Lim then approaches you about sponsoring gymnastics equipment, uniforms, and jackets for the academy team, on the condition that you select his daughter as one of the starting gymnasts in the upcoming National Competition. You are in a moral dilemma with the decision to include Lisa in the team’s selection and taking up the sponsorship from Mr. Lim.
a) Using either the Deontological OR Consequentialist decision-making process, elaborate in detail how you would reach your decision.
b) Explain your rationale in the selected decision-making process. Describe some of your past experiences where you used the same decision-making process.
