Over the span of 10 years, child abuse has been a common problem among Singaporean children, which is our target audience for this project. We have studied and identified that the main problem faced by abused children include: Sexual abuse, Physical abuse, Psychological abuse, and Emotional abuse and neglect, which is also partly due to the recent Covid-19 pandemic.
According to The Straits Times, the number of cases drastically increased by 63% from 1,313 cases in 2020 to 2,141 cases in 2021. With the number of abuse cases arising, more children are becoming victims of child abuse, which will continuously affect their mental health in the long run.
