Understanding Work Stress in the Age of Technology and AI

In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, where AI and digital tools permeate every facet of work, the boundaries of our professional and personal lives are often tested. This assignment invites you to reflect on the concept of stress, particularly work-related stress, from your perspective. Begin by defining what ‘Stress’ means to you. Is it cognitive, emotional, physical, or all three?

To strengthen your perspectives, explore how technology and artificial intelligence impact your experience of stress in your day-to-day activities. Think about how they have affected you, either positively or negatively. Are there specific ways these tools create challenges or alleviate pressure in your life? And, as the workforce becomes increasingly tech-dependent, how do you foresee these effects shaping your future work-life balance and well-being?

Part 1 Question

Demonstrate your understanding of technology and analyse how it has impacted your work by giving a 4–5-minute presentation recorded as a video submission (e.g., a PowerPoint presentation filmed on video). The video must include additional information relevant to the question and consist of audio commentary annotations or both.

Instructions

• You will present your insights in a 4–5-minute video. This assignment encourages you to authentically communicate your reflections as if in a live conversation, capturing your personal experiences and analytical perspectives.
• Develop and submit an MPEG-4 format video to discuss the challenges in technology and technostress at work (or housework for those who are not at work only). In your concluding remarks, spend about 1 minute, reflecting on how specific aspects of technology have affected you. Provide a real-life example to support your answer.

Reflect on your experience of exploring the impact of technology and AI on work-related stress. Share your thoughts on how this assignment shaped your understanding of work stress in a technology-driven environment and propose how you will apply the lessons learnt to cope with these developments.
