Chapter 1 Theory – Meeting the K1 Learning Outcome:

Critical understanding of global entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability issues and challenges.

Title: Global Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Sustainability: Making our world a better place

Thematic Options – You should contextualise your research question.

1. Smart City Solution, Green & Environmental, Internet of Things (IoT)
2. Mobile App, 5G, Robotics
3. Social media
4. Deep Tech: Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Analysis, Block Chain, AR/VR
5. Financial Technology: Crowd funding, InsurTech, Payment and Digital Banking
6. Social/Corporate Entrepreneurship, Ethics, and
7. Value Creation and Co-Creation; Internet of things; Catering and
8. Your own option agreed with the Module Leader/Local * This could be a fusion of the above.

You will be introduced to various themes and/or theoretical issues pertaining to Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation. This will include journal articles and empirical studies. Explore and research the area/s of interest to you.

You should select any one sub-theme from options A to G as shown above (e.g. mobile app or  5G or Robotics in thematic option B). The structure of your work could follow a journal article, business report format or a creative format agreed with the module leader. All these should be underpinned with an academic rigour. Chapter 2 Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation Micro–Enterprise Idea /Project Meeting the K2 learning outcome: Word Guide: 1400-2000 – Weighting 50%

Critical appraisal of a micro – enterprise project-based activity through active research, innovation, development and pitching of a unique solution.

You should develop creative ideas and share experiences and skills/attributes which are important as part of the enterprise, employment and career/personal development.

Value and Co-creation: Develop Your Enterprise. You are required to identify, design, plan, undertake, manage and exploit an entrepreneurial opportunity via a micro – enterprise project based activity through active research, innovation, development and pitching of a unique solution.

Your own micro-enterprise should offer a global entrepreneurial opportunity and or unique solution highlighted from global and sustainable challenges and issues explored in learning outcome K1. Your project or ideas should allow you to experience the many faceted tensions and problem-solving adaptability developed through the entrepreneurial, innovation and creativity process.

You are required to develop your enterprise work – based employable skills and attributes (Teamwork, analytical, problem solving, creative & strategic thinking, Information and computer technology, ability to think laterally, report writing, ability to pitch ideas, numeracy and grammar, time keeping and networking).

The report which should follow the structure of a concept plan will be supported by a 5-8 min pitch or presentation (8-12 slides) demonstrating your Global Entrepreneurship and Innovations ideas or project with creative and professional style to potential investors and stakeholders. This should meet your S1, S2 and S3 module skills outcomes. Formative feedback can be provided through individual consultation session.

Chapter 3 – Reflection

Meeting K3 learning outcome: Word Guide 600 Weighting 20%

Critical reflection of entrepreneurship and innovation theories, concepts, and techniques. Over your time as an undergraduate you have been introduced to reflexive and experiential learning theories. You are required to document your experiential and reflective learning, for example, using one of the following techniques Belbin /Tuckman /Kolb, where appropriate. Evaluate your personal development and performance. This should include a portfolio of your experiences on the module. Demonstrate your Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation skills and attributes and discuss what you learn in this module which may apply in your own micro-enterprise. Complete the UGB 362 Rose/Spider Diagram and make reflection on any four skills and attributes. Examples and formats will be provided by the tutor.
